Simi Crowns – ‘Ones To Watch’
Simi Crowns is a part of the new breed of Irish/African musicians that includes much of the Word Up Collective and Rusangano Family, the cross polination of Irish experiences and African roots.
Simi Crowns, a Lagos-born rapper featured here for his pop-centred rap track ‘Pressure’ in 2014 and ever since he’s been pushing his craft in a live setting under the title A Tribe Of Nomads.
New track ‘Ones To Watch’ a funk and soul foundation gives way to a bass-lead track about Simi’s vivid determination, comes off the back of a Pitchfork mention last month about that new breed of Irish hip-hop and a London show coming in June.
