Soda Blonde - Small Talk (Official Video)

Soda Blonde have made a four-part short film “inspired by our own journeys through marriage, family, social politics and addiction” set to songs from their forthcoming record on July 9th.

Part One features the title song ‘Small Talk’ and starts with the story of a couple (Faye O’Rourke and Fionn Foley, who plays some sort of performer of motivational speaker perhaps called Frankie Drakos) who visit the Drakos parents played by Judith Mok and Michael O’Loughlin.

Stephen Byrne plays a brother, Marcus Drakos, out for revenge possibly, and Hannah Mamalis plays a sister whose story is yet to be revealed but is moping around the house.

Consider us intrigued. The second chapter is out Friday.

“A few months ago we sat down at a round table and decided that, rather than make one music video, we would attempt to make a short film in 4 parts. We wrote a story inspired by our own journeys through marriage, family, social politics and addiction. We delved deep into the Ancient Greek Rituals of the Dionysian Mysteries and added a pinch of that too. Pulling off the shoot was an enormous undertaking with the restrictions. But through the incredible talent and efforts of our extraordinary cast and crew we are very proud to present the first two parts of the story. “

Soda Blonde play our special live stream show on June 25th live from St. Columb’s Hall in Derry. Tickets are £8 and Nealo is the headline artists this Friday June 18th.
