Somadrone releases Series A – a 12″ of archival material from 2012 – 2019

Irish electronic musician Neil O’Connor has most recently released a collaborative album as Ordnance Survey featuring Seán Mac Erlaine, Katie Ellis, John McEntire (Tortoise), and Linda Buckley among others.

But you will likely know him as Somadrone and his music which has featured here regularly over the years.

Returning to Somadrone with a special release of unreleased and archive material, Series A, as the name suggests is the first collection of improvisational music that the artist is releasing on 12″ and digitally today.

“Although I am not releasing albums under Somadrone at present, there is plenty of archival and unreleased material to get through. This first EP, Series A documents the years 2012-2019. Side A is from improvisations made with a Roland Jupiter 4 Compuphonic and a Roland TR-606 made while I was living in Brooklyn during 2012-14. Side B is a track written for RnaG’s An Tuathail 20th anniversary show and D1 Records 25th anniversary LP of 2019. Very limited edition of 12″ shipping from July 1st.”
