The Journal of Music celebrates turning twenty with a panel discussion on the future of Irish Music

Irish music publication The Journal Of Music is on the verge of its 20th anniversary.

The publication, which has a penchant for more classically rooted genres, was founded by Toner Quinn in 2000. The publication now receives significant funding from the Irish Arts Council.

To mark their 20th anniversary, the publication are organising a free discussion panel in the National Concert Hall on February 29th.

Entitled ‘The Next 20 Yrs of New Music in Ireland: What Do We Need To Do?’ – the panel will see discussion on the future of Irish music from Quinn, music critic Adrian Smith, Lina Andonovska and composer Benjamin Dwyer.

The event is free and welcome for the public to attend.
