Watch Stephen James Smith’s lockdown poem Collectively Counting featuring Villagers’ Conor O’Brien and Gareth Quinn Redmond

Collectively Counting is a a new poem by Dublin poet Stephen James Smith with musical accompaniment from Villagers’ Conor O’Brien on trumpet and Gareth Quinn Redmond on piano with a drone video by Craig Kenny.

‘Collectively Counting’ was premiered with First Fortnight yesterday and explores Irish society living through lockdown life and its effect on our collective mental health.

‘Collectively Counting’ is a call for us all to pause for a moment and count together the many questions and wanderings that this time has brought to us.
