Watch: Video for Daithí ‘s ‘In My Darkest Moments’ takes a brutal look at male loneliness

Daithi - In My Darkest Moments (feat. The Sei) - Official Video

It’s no secret that we were huge fans of Daithí’s recent double single release. Both ‘Take The Wheel’ and ‘In My Darkest Moments’ are superb tracks, surely the artist’s best work to date.

Now, we’ve been treated to a video for ‘In My Darkest Moments’, the track which features The Sei.

The video is overwhelmingly sad. Focusing on the theme of male loneliness and set in a seemingly bleak country town. Directed by Lochlainn McKenna, the narrative is centred around two friends who are both individually struggling with isolation.

Due to some fantastic cinematography and editing, it’s heartbreaking to see how both the friends can seem most on their own when they’re together.

Shot in north county Clare, there’s plenty of breathtaking shots throughout the video. However, in the context of the narrative, the Atlantic landscape comes across as brutal and barren.

A truly powerful bit of audiovisual art. Check it out.
