A new monthly new-music night in Wexford kicks off with Le Boom

Mike McGrath-Bryan

Following booking a 24-date tour of Ireland, and having assumed programming duties in The Roundy in Cork city centre, independent promotion house Merakindie, headed up by Wexford native Emma Kelly, is returning to its spiritual home with a newly-announced monthly engagement in the town’s The Sky & the Ground pub.

Speaking on the announcement, Kelly says: “I’m delighted to be teaming up with my local pub, ran by the lovely Barron family, they have brought some fantastic music to Wexford over the years and I’m very excited to be in a position to bring more alternative music to Wexford.”

The outfit’s first hometown excursion will be an end-of-summer party on August 24th at 9pm, featuring Le Boom, fresh from the festival grind, including Body & Soul, Sea Sessions, Castlepalooza and more.

Tickets €10, available locally from the bar. Check Merakindie’s website out here.
