Bipolar Sunshine
Manchester man Adio Marchant has been gaining attention with the three songs from his upcoming Aesthetics EP which have a sweet sensitive edge to the music’s electronic-assisted indie rock slant. It’s a little bit Bloc Party, a little bit TV On The Radio. Good things indeed.
Dornik
PMR Records have shown good form with releases by Disclosure and Jessie Ware in the last few years and their latest signing Dornik Leigh, a drummer in Jessie Ware’s band, closely echoes her electronic R&B template.
Belle Mare
The exploration of “old-time chanteuse” sounds is the aim of this breezy Brooklyn band who formed when Londoner Amelia Bushell and New Yorker Thomas Servidone met at an open mic night. As the name evokes, their music is a vintage-sounding soundtrack to a day trip to a seaside town.
Twenty One Pilots
Imagine an American brat rapping over The Postal Service and Passion Pit and you’ll get a good idea of the music made by Ohio’s Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun. The duo have self-released two albums since 2009 but their latest Vessel, will get a release on Fueled by Ramen, the major label subsidiary that releases Paramore and Fun so expect a breakthrough this side of the pond.
