Phoria are a Brighton five-piece band introduced here last year. You might remember that three of the band members have been playing together since they were six or you might remember ‘Red’, the song that drew me in, a downbeat atmospheric track with icy overtones, as if there was freeze in the production room.
New track ‘Emanate’ is their first in a while, and it shares the minimal efforts of ‘Red’, with some subtle bass movements, finger-clicking percussion and a second half that segues into an epic crescendo.
It’s taken from the the forthcoming Display EP, coming on X Novo in June. A pre-order for the EP/download of this track is on iTunes. The band play The Great Escape this weekend.
