Kaytranada won the Polaris Music Prize last night

Kaytranada was announced as the winner of the 2016 Polaris Music Prize last night.

The Canadian album of the year was awarded to his debut album 99.9%, by a jury of music industry. He was awarded $50,000 too.

Kay won out over albums from Jessy Lanza, Carly Rae Jepsen, Basia Bulat, Grimes and White Lung.
