Abbacaxi is the Dublin multi-instrumentalist and literal member of the Loah and Fehdah family who last year released a beaut of a track called ‘Used To Keep Me Warm’ which had a soul house slant.
For his first single of 2021, Abbacaxi is moving deeper into house territory with ‘More Than I Need’ that has the DNA of a love of jazz, funk and disco in its makeup, and moves with intent and recalls ’90s dance luminaries like Laurent Garnier.
“I wrote this track because I was getting tired of the unpredictability of certain things in my life, which had great value. Over time I started to feel that perhaps less is more. Maybe these things weren’t as important as I initially thought, and life could be just as good without them.”
Listen to the housey cut ‘More Than I Need’:
‘More Than I Need’ is out tomorrow on all DSPs through Lost Decay (Faction Records).
FYI: Abbacaxi is an intentional misspelling of the Portuguese word for pineapple.
