Allchival to re-release Operating Theatre debut album Miss Mauger

The lost electronic gem gets introduced to a new audience.

All City Records’ sub-label Allchival is set to release Operating Theatre’s 1982 debut album Miss Mauger on September 2.

Operating Theatre, a little known Irish synth focused electronic act led by avant-garde composer Roger Doyle, released music throughout the 80s before taking a break to return for another stint from 1999 to 2008.

Their debut album was an early Irish submergence into experimental electronic and the first time the Fairfax sampler was ever used in an Irish studio. Miss Mauger is an intriguing predecessor to the new wave sound blending elements of synth-pop, clattering experimentation and chiptune moments to create a surprising journey into outsider music.
