There’s a festival dedicated to Dolores O’Riordan happening in Limerick this weekend

Dreams Fest ’19 is a new festival dedicated to celebrating the life of Dolores O’Riordan taking place this weekend  across multiple venues in Bruff, County Limerick.

Just under a year after the death of the Cranberries star, the Bruff community have  come together to host an eclectic mix of local artists on the date of her birthday – O’Riordan would have turned 48 on September 6, 2019. With a focus on original music, the festival also showcases comedy, cabaret, spoken word and community music gatherings.

The festival opens this Friday with the unveiling and renaming of Dreams Park. The is followed by a plethora of Limerick talent across multiple stages.

 


Friday the 6th September

  • 7pm – Dreams Park Unveiling & Balloon Ceremony
  • 8pm – Street Stage: Noelle O’Riordan, Kellie Lewis, Parliament Square
  • 8pm – 10pm
    • The Church & Nun’s Room: Men’s Shed meets the Ukealadies
  • From 10pm
    • Clancy’s Session Bar, Upstairs: Mega Trad, Thick as Thieves
    • Clancy’s Underworld: Eve’s Record Box, Outline, Zephire
    • Derry’s Piano Bar: Clare Mullins, Gary Hayes
    • Clarke’s Bar: Open Mic & Special Guests
    • Mary Howards: Laurence Corbette

Saturday afternoon will see the Bruff community in full swing alongside veterans of the Limerick music scene Protobaby and Fox Jaw performing sets on the Street Stage.

Later in the evening the festival will host a hint of the City’s underground hip-hop scene with Hazey Haze, Citrus Fresh and In the Black.

Saturday 7th September

  • 2pm – 3.30pm

Sunday afternoon features a welcomed change of pace which will give you the chance to put on your moshing shoes with the DIY legends, Cruiser, who are performing on the main stage alongside New Age Messiah.

The evening will ease you into work the next day with indie and folk acts littered around the town. Highlight of which include, dREA, Kellie Lewis and Broken Cord.
