Dublin Prince night announced to mark the 1 year-anniversary of his death
A year to the day since Prince Rogers Nelson sadly and suddenly passed away, The Grand Social will mark the occasion in Dublin with a night of Prince-related music and DJ sets.
A Celebration of Prince takes place on Friday April 21st at the venue featuring:
Upstairs in The Loft, Housequake – a collective of the country’s best funk, soul and blues musicians, will perform Prince’s best-known hits and most loved fan favourites. After the band there’ll be Purple and Gold, Keith Fennell (Hipdrop Records) Dennis Cassidy (The Record Spot) and Danny G on the decks with some amazing vinyl treats in store.
This will follow a panel discussion on the life and legacy of Prince with contributions from Today FM DJ Kelly Anne Byrne, Irish Times music correspondent Brian Boyd (who interviewed Prince for the paper) and more guests t.b.a
Downstairs will see a screening of Purple Rain followed by sets from 2 of Dublin’s best known DJs Kelly Anne Byrne and Nialler9
