Knockanstockan unveil 85 new bands playing this year’s festival

Luke Sharkey

Knockanstockan music & arts festival have today unveiled their full 2018 lineup. It’ll be the festival’s grand return after a year away in 2017.

With a total of 85 new acts added to the bill, plus the introduction of the brand new sponsored Unfiltered stage, this year seems set to be the festival’s biggest yet.

The festival is well known for it’s strong domestic showing and this year is no different. The lineup reads like a current who’s who of Irish music with appearances set from Cathy Davey, Kojaque, AE Mak, The Hot Sprockets, THUMPER and many many more.

The organisers seem to have spent a lot of time deciding on the best way to develop the festival, one result of which is the complete redesign of their main stage area. For this they commissioned design outfit Espaco Libellua, who’s work incorporates elements of psychedelia with a sustainable D.I.Y. ethos. With this redesign and the impressive line up, KnockanStockan 2018 seems set to be a memorable weekend.
