Never a band to wait around too long for a tune to end, Grand Pocket Orchestra’s debut album is finally here and crams in 18 songs over 36 minutes. With a couple of line-up changes that have bolstered their sound, The Ice Cream lives up to the promise displayed on their two previous EPs and the recent single ‘Basketballs’ albeit more robust and crafted. I’ve called their music Fisher Price Pop before and I’m sticking with it. Get yourself a 99 Flake from the man with the dirty hands in the van and press play!

The band launch their album on Saturday August 28th in Whelan’s with guests Girls Names and Hipster Youth. Tickets: €10 or €15 with CD.
