David Kitt had a good year last year with his New Jackson project, releasing one of my tracks of the year – ‘Sat Around Here Waiting’ ( a Meteor Choice song of the year nominee) and the Hivern release that housed it along with ‘Of A Thousand Leaves’ on Major Problems, disco edits, and super remixes for the xx, TR-One and Mano Le Tough. In a couple of weeks, he’ll follow up that activity with a new EP, Made It Mine on the Permanent Vacation label on February 21st on 12″ red vinyl and digitally (artwork above by Practice & Theory).
The four tracks on the EP are ‘Made It Mine’, ‘Jam On Summer’, ‘Satisfaction’ and ‘Skies The Limit’ (which samples the Biggie song of the same name), showcase Kitt’s deeply arranged percussive house and vocoder dance music. Listen to ‘Satisfaction’, a track which pulls all those characteristics together.
