It’s New Music Friday, which means there’s loads of new songs out. Here are the highlights of the day’s new tracks.

The Chemical Brothers – ‘The Darkness That You Fear’
A once-off single from the Chems.
Angel Olsen – ‘Alive and Dying (Waving, Smiling)’
An orchestral version of ‘Waving Smiling’ from Angel Olsen’s forthcoming Song of the Lark and Other Far Memories box set out 7 May on Jagjaguwar.
Little Simz – ‘Introvert’
Little Simz isn’t doing things by half in announcing her forthcoming album Sometimes I Might Be Introvert for September 3rd. Epic string swells and orchestral fanfare introduce a more ambitious phase of Little Simz’ career.
David Keenan – ‘Peter O’Toole’s Drinking Stories’
Singer-songwriter David Keenan marks the followup from last year’s debut with this spoken word and sung-track that encapsulates his troubadour appeal. An extensive Irish and European tour was also announced.
The Juan Maclean – ‘I Can’t Explain’
The Juan Maclean’s head is clearly in the club. A four-track EP is out today.
Space Dimension Controller – ‘Polymer Pyramid’
From a forthcoming EP called Dispatch47 on the AUS label.
Jehnova, IOD, Luthorist – ‘Ressa’
A teaser from next week’s Avenoir mixtape release on the 30th of April.
Sorbet, Arborist – ‘Only For The Young’
Mark McCambridge of Arborist explores climate change and the environmental legacy his children will deal with on a track from Chris Ryan’s forthcoming album This Was Paradise, out on June 4th.
Flying Lotus – ‘Black Gold’ with Thundercat
Flying Lotus has soundtracked the Netflix Anime series Yasuke and ‘Black Gold’ one of two tracks released today features Thundercat on vocals. See also ‘Between Memories’.
Damien Lynch – ‘Amulet’
Damien Lynch FKA Diamond Dagger drops a four-track EP on the Wicklow label Remote Town leading off with this head-nodder.
Bicep – ‘Siena’ feat. Clara Le San
A deluxe digital version of Isles dropped today featuring three extra tracks including this standout.
