Here’s a rundown of new releases on DSPs and physical releases in record shops this week.


New Albums


Arthur Russell – Picture of Bunny Rabbit

Album of previously unreleased material. Features nine previously unreleased performances recorded around the same time as 1986’s landmark World Of Echo, compiled from completed masters culled from two unique test pressings, including one, dated 9/15/85 by Arthur, provided by his mother and sister.  A further four tracks were discovered in his tape archive.


Not Waving – The Place I’ve Been Missing

“Luminous and reflective ambient pop opus from Alessio Natalizia on a career-defining outing as Not Waving, featuring contributions from Romance, Marie Davidson, More Eaze and Spivak, plus a posthumous appearance by occasional collaborator Mark Lanegan, R.I.P.” so say Boomkat.


Lunice – Open

Hud Mo’s TNGHT collaborator is back on the LuckyMe label six years after the Montreal producer’s debut. This one is rapper-guest heavy. Bandcamp.


Let’s Eat Grandma – Half Bad: The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself Original Soundtrack

Soundtrack for the Netflix adaptation of Sally Green’s young adult novel Half Bad.


Albert Hammond Jr. – Melodies on Hiatus

The Strokes guitarist’s fifth studio album. ‘100-99’ with Goldlink.


Geese – 3D Country

“Hyped Brooklyn indie-rock band successfully avoids a sophomore slump, ” says Rolling Stone.


Kim Petras – Feed The Beast

Debut album from the German pop artist sticks the safe landing.


Mac Miller – Watching Movies with the Sound Off (10th Anniversary)

The 20-track record includes the three original bonus tracks featuring with Tyler, the Creator and Earl Sweatshirt.


Swans – The Beggar

Michael Gira and band return with their trademark doom-laden rock music on 16th album.


Young Thug – BUSINESS IS BUSINESS

Third studio album by Tandem Felix rapper who is currently in jail awaiting racketeering charges. Features Drake, Future, 21 Savage, Lil Gotit, Yak Gotti, Travis Scott, Bslime, and Fun.’s Nate Ruess.


M. Ward – Supernatural Thing

Portland singer-songwriter and guitarist’s new album features guests First Aid Kit and Neko Case. Bandcamp.


Cory Hanson – Western Cum

Third album from the California singer-guitarist who plays The Workman’s Club on Tuesday August 22nd. ‘Twins’


Wye Oak – Every Day Like the Last

Alternative indie folk band duo of  Jenn Wasner and Andy Stack releases a collection of singles since 2019 to present.


Theophilus London – TL

Glad to see that Theo is back releasing music after going missing earlier this year.


Portugal. The Man – Chris Black Changed My Life

Ninth studio album by American rock band.


Blotter Trax – Superconductor

Full-length album on Optimo from Berlin-based electro-funk acid techno trio. Features Nina Hynes on vocals. Bandcamp.


DuoDecad – the twelfth hour

Debut album from an electronic indie duo based in Dublin and Chicago. ‘A Little Bit Of Love’


Pearse McLoughlin – Keg

Irish indie and folk singer-songwriter releases his sixth studio album – “a melting pot of personal nostalgia, drum machines, spectral tape hiss, grief, glossolalia, media overwhelm, quiet country roads and giddy highs.” Bandcamp.


EP & 12″ Releases


Zissou – January mixtape

Dublin beat producer aka Sloucho collaborates with MC EMBY, E The Artist, Julia Louise Knifefist & more on a six-track mixtape, from which we’ve featured two so far.


Matthew Xavier Corrigan – from ten, with love EP

The artist formerly known as Ghostking Is Dead releases an EP on Hausu Records takes things down a mellower path, drawing on folk, rock, jazz and hip-hop production. Bandcamp.


Far Caspian – Pet Architect

Leeds-based Irish artist releases an EP ahead of the album The Last Remaining Light on July 14th. ‘Own’


Karenn – Everything is Curly EP

Blawan and Pariah are back on their techno alias with the first release since 2020.


Bear’s Den – First Loves

British folk rock band’s new EP on Communion Records. ‘Evelyn’


David ofmg – For what it’s worth EP

Solo solo dream pop and emo artist from Arklow, based in Louth, who has previously played as a session guitarist with bands such as modernlove. and Dog Day Afternoon. ‘Note To Myself’


Mike Smalle – Calling Long Distance

Galway producer (cane141, B-Movie Lightning and Augustus & John) releases a communications-themed EP. Bandcamp.


Saint Sister – Where I Should End remixes

Four remix package featuring reworks from Arveene, ELLLL, Rian Trench and Shura.
