Premiere: ELM and NIMMO team up for a floor-filling groove on ‘Paris’ remix
Dublin based four-piece ELM create floor-filling queer-pop made up of power choruses and mood-lifting melodies. With shows at Madrid Pride, Hull Pride and Latitude Festival under their belt and upcoming dates including Love Sensation and Manchester Pride, they’re already making waves with their polished singalong ready anthems.
Today we’re premiering NIMMO‘s remix of their recent euphoric single ‘Paris’.
London electro-pop duo NIMMO’s re-interpretation of ‘Paris’ takes the emotional choruses of the original song and brings them to the club. Taking clues from classic house inspired melodies and drum patterns, the remix transforms the hushed vocals of Dylan Walsh and repositions them as a declaration of dancefloor freedom. It’s a glamourous bounce that’s irresistible and infectious.
This inspiration for ‘Paris’ came from a watching of Paris Is Burning, the iconic 1990 documentary depicting the lived experiences of black, Latino, gay and transgender communities that built the New York drag scene of the 1980s. Walsh says “Knowing the importance of acceptance, whether it’s in person, on a silver screen or through a set of headphones, we wrote ‘Paris’ after watching the documentary ‘Paris Is Burning’ as an ode to the people who played a role in saving us and as a lifeline to those who need to be reminded that everything will be okay”.
‘Paris (NIMMO remix)’ will be available on all platforms from Friday, August 16.
