Inni-K revisits past emotions in ‘Just After’
Dublin-based singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Inni-K AKA Eithne Ní Chatháin has been gathering a steady stream of acclaim since her musical inception and was recently named as one of RTÉ’s ten fierce women defining Irish culture.
Her anticipated second album The Hare and The Line is set for release Friday 1st March 2019 and today we get to share with you the latest release from it.
‘Just After’ showcases what Inni-K does best with ethereal vocals and evocative lyrics, and a Wurlitzer organ provides a textural grain under clean electric guitar tones. The track deals with the immediate feelings that come with the trauma of a loved one dying, contrasted by the feelings that that memory renders now.
Inni-K said:
“I think this is the most ‘up-to-date’ representation of me musically speaking and I’m happy and proud for it to be the first taste people will hear of the new album. In common with a few of the songs on ‘The Hare & the Line’; I think of ‘Just After’ as painting a moment; in this case, that surreal and so utterly real moment after a loved one has died. It’s about the moment after my Dad died, and also recounting and remembering that moment 7 years on.”
