Premiere: Listen to Jackie Beverly’s new hazy indietronic song ‘Someone Else’

Donal Corrigan

Jackie Beverly is releasing her third track ‘Someone Else’ this Friday, further marking the artist as a name you need to know in the Irish music scene.

The track was inspired by Jackie dealing with her sexuality and the hurt she caused to others in the process.

‘Someone Else’ is a song about feeling guilty in the aftermath and the helplessness of wanting change but not being able to,” Beverly said.

“When I wrote ‘Someone Else’ I was going through a bit of a tough time. For about a year or so I found myself really struggling with my sexuality, and as a result of those struggles I feel like some people may have gotten hurt along the way.

Jackie Beverly exhibits her hazy pop style in this song. The soft and flowing vocals nicely contrast against the heartbreaking lyrics. Furthermore, the grainy synths carry these opaque vibes which gives ‘Someone Else’ a distinguished atmosphere.

Presave the track.

We’ve been big fans of this budding artists for a while now. We had the pleasure of premiering her debut single ‘Out of Reasons‘ and her followup track ‘Talk it Through‘.

Talk it Through

You can catch Jackie Beverly at Whelan’s We’ve Only Just Begun festival this Sunday the 11th. The final day of the festival has a stellar line up for indietronic female Irish artists with Anna Mullarkey and Soda Blonde also joining the lineup.

Tickets are €15 and available from here.
