Premiere: Tanjier refuse to take the safe option on ‘Lights’

Luke Sharkey

Dublin-based electronic trio Tanjier release their superb new single ‘Lights’ today.

The shimmery pop track plays like an anthem for summer nights, complete with silky smooth vocal delivery and sharp guitar riffs.

Lyrically, the track deals with the “the challenges of breaking the typical parental expectations of going to college, getting a 9-5 job, and making enough money to buy a house.” A contrast in mood and tone to the upbeat swells of the instrumental.

The track is the follow up the release of ‘Miles’, which premiered on the site earlier this year. Both of these singles hear the group honing in on a distinctly electro inspired brand of indie music, flush with moody synth lines and tight grooves.

Tanjier play in the Spirit Store, Dundalk on the 22nd of November. Event details available here.
