RTE Folk Awards shortlist: John Francis Flynn, Susan O’Neill, Joshua Burnside and Laura Quirke, & Saint Sister among nominated
The RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards have announced the shortlist for the awards due to take place live at Vicar Street, Dublin and on RTÉ Radio 1 at 8pm on Tuesday 16th November.
The awards will be presented by John Creedon and Ruth Smith, and celebrates the best in current Irish folk music while celebrating long-standing legends.
Among the nominees this year, are Saint Sister and John Francis Flynn for their respective albums, Joshua Burnside and Laura Quirke’s collaboration is nominated for best song, along with Susan O’Neill, Mick Flannery and Susan O’Neill, Jack O’Rourke and Adrian Crowley.
Lisa O’Neill and Colm Mac Con Iomaire, John Francis Flynn, Ye Vagabonds are nominated for Best Traditional Folk track, and Best Folk Group includes Villagers, Ye Vagabonds and more.

Tickets for the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards with live performances from nominees are on sale now via Ticketmaster priced at €24 plus fees. A television highlights programme will also be broadcast on RTÉ One on Saturday 20th November. The show will be live on RTÉ Radio 1 at 8pm on Tuesday 16th November.
