Shakalak underline the importance of human compassion on new single 'Kindness' (premiere)

The Dublin band plays a single launch gig Bloody Mary’s on March 20th.

Dublin psychedelic hip-hop group Shakalak are premiering their fourth single, entitled ‘Kindness’ on the site today.

This five-minute tune is a dose of down-tempo, hypnotic hip-hop.

There’s a mantra which echoes throughout the song’s run time “This is called kindness/Not a form of weakness”. That’s right at the core of what Shakalak’s new song gets at, the need for compassion and its value in everyday modern life.

The vocal performance falls in the blurred lines between hip-hop and spoken word. Its delivery is soft, tinged in a Dublin drawl, allowing the words and their impact to, in a sense, speak for themselves.
