Here are the 12 Irish acts heading to showcase at SXSW in Texas this week
The annual South By Southwest Festival takes place this week in Austin, Texas in March and is the world’s biggest showcase of new music. Personally, I feel European bands who go there, should only really be searching for North American opportunities in which there is already some interest in terms of publishing/sync, a record deal, a US booking agent or similar.
A band who are unknown in their home country shouldn’t really be going just cos they were invited as we’ve seen too many times before. It’s a waste of time and money yet bands and acts go every year despite better advice. Some advice here from 2016.
So with that in mind here are the acts from Ireland going this year, 12 acts playing 50 shows this week – many who are looking for sync, publishing or US agent deals.
