Planet Parade’
‘Face To Face’
With a new LP on the way, the Irish duo reveal a shimmering tropical pop side..
The Kildare duo Michael Hopkins & Andrew Lloyd aka Planet Parade have announced their debut album Mercury will be released in September.
The band have been quietly recording the LP since releasing their summer single ‘Blue Sky’ last year. That followed ‘You’ll Be Sorry’ and ‘Cardiac’ which came after a four-year hiatus.
‘Face To Face’ is Mercury’s opening track, a song that further redraws the lines of the band’s sound into a world of bright shimmering tropical-pop music.

Todd Terje & The Olsens
‘Firecracker’
A cracking Yellow Magic Orchestra cover.
Cosmic disco don Todd Terje has unleashed the likely standout from his disco covers EP with the Olsens. A remix of Japanese band Yellow Magic Orchestra’s ‘Firecracker’ has Terje’s typically full-bodied and bouncy style all over it.
It’s from the EP coming in June which also features covers of Vangelis and Boney M. Hear the latter.
Terje and the Olsens play Dublin City Block Party in July.
