Toshín & Zapho collaboration births the electrifying 'Eat Sleep Sex Desire'

Collaboration is key & always worth highlighting.

When the collaborations come from sources as reliable as Dublin electro-funk artist Zapho & 9 piece funk group Toshín, we’re all ears.

‘Eat Sleep Sex Desire’ is born of youthful desire, stating as if a mantra “exercise your animal rights while we are young”.

It’s fitting enough that the arrangement is as electric as it is, given the subject matter of the song. A charged, bluesy funk performance – delivered with razor-sharp precision.

The single is played live in Sun Studios and the video (Directed by John Branagan) really helps capture the energy of the performance, we don’t usually do live videos but happily made an exception for this.

‘Eat Sleep Sex Desire’ is the first in a number of collaborations between Zapho & Toshín, who have partnered together to pen more tunes.

Zapho has also been busy collaborating with several other notable Irish musicians as part of a broader project, keep an eye peeled for that.

Toshín turn three on November 1st and are playing a gig in Sin É to mark the occasion. Tickets will be €5 on the door and further event details are available here.
