Watch J Smith’s tender and personal music video featuring the artist & his wife for ‘Blood Orange’

J Smith - Blood Orange feat. Nnic

James Smith has released two tender solo songs – ‘I’m Sorry’ and ‘Blood Orange’ this year. under the name J Smith.

The latter ‘Blood Orange’ is a song written about his relationship with his wife Ffion and tells of “a couple’s second chance to reignite their passion in love.”

To take things further, the video was released today and places the real life pair in a tender and personal series of shots that really underscore the intimacy and strength in the relationship and how it can ebb and flow. Look away now if you don’t want to well up.

I’ve worked with Ollie and Alex on many occasions, and I feel like they always come away impressing more than I could ever imagine. We had three hours to shoot everything after a sudden emergency halted filming, but knowing heir skills and the relationship we’ve developed as a team, we weren’t worried. We stitched home footage and footage they shot with stock footage I gathered online to create a story of turmoil and triumph over dwindling passions. I am thrilled with what we put together.

Blood Orange Lyrics

You know my body
You’ve put in the miles
And I know how your pulse feels
Tryna catch up with mine
We came to see a blood orange moon
And shiver up in a tent

I’ve come to see you in a different light
Oh, you know that wasn’t what I meant

Passion ain’t built to last
Didn’t see it coming, didn’t see it coming
We all get a second chance
This time we’ll see it coming, time we’ll see it coming

Such silent silence
I can’t hear myself thinking out loud
I hope my heart speaks up
It will speak a truth I won’t allow

Passion ain’t built to last
Didn’t see it coming, didn’t see it coming
We all get a second chance
This time we’ll see it coming, time we’ll see it coming

Passion ain’t built to last
Didn’t see it coming, didn’t see it coming
We all get a second chance
This time we’ll see it coming, time we’ll see it coming
