Dublin-based Orchid Collective is made up by David O’Shea (lead vocals, guitar), Shea Tohill (lead guitar, vocals), Hugh O’Neill (bass, vocals) and Darra Doyle (drums, vocals).

‘Winter’s Pass’ as a follow up to their last release ‘L.A.Z.Y’ deals with the emotional turmoil that occurs when entering the new year but in that remembering that the coming of Spring allows for that change to be embraced.

The track is rich in grasping harmonies and stirring guitar riffs that amount to a cause for reflection.

‘Winter’s Pass’ was self-produced by the band, recorded in their own kitchen last December.

The Dublin-based band Orchid Collective have followed up their recent EP and single from earlier this year with ‘L.A.Z.Y’, another step forward for the fourpiece.

‘L.A.Z.Y’ is a song that doesn’t languish in comfort for too long, as the chorus and arrangements reach for the soaring. It’s released as a single on Friday on Spotify but you can hear it here now.

The band play The Workman’s Club on November 25th. Tickets are on sale now.

Orchid Collective are of David O’Shea (lead vocals, guitar), Shea Tohill (lead guitar, vocals), Hugh O’Neill (bass, vocals) and Darra Doyle (drums, vocals). The song was produced by Declan Legge (Soak/Jealous of The Birds) and mixed by Grammy award winning Brian Malouf (Micheal Jackson/ Madonna).

The Dublin band Orchid Collective are ready to follow up up their debut EP of hushed folk rock with a new single from the EP.

‘Waited On The Sun’ is a track that revels in its considered indie-rock atmosphere and the slipping away of a relationship out of grasp.

“I waited on the sun. / I waited all night long. / I waited for the sun to show you.”

Orchid Collective biggest show yet is at the Unitarian Church on March 4th.

They are also playing Belfast at Output on February 16th.

One of the best sets I saw at Hard Working Class Heroes earlier this month was from the Dublin-based four-piece Orchid Collective.

Their set in Wigwam showcased a considered, sonorous folk-rock sound from four lads who have been growing into their music. This week, the band release their debut EP Courage and over four songs, the band establish that sound on record with the building ‘Tomorrows’, the melodic ‘Courage’ and the tension-filled harmonics ‘Waited On The Sun’ among them.

Orchid Collective are: David O Shea (lead vocals, guitar), Shea Tohill (lead guitar, vocals), Hugh O’Neill (bass, vocals) and Brian Roony (drums, vocals)
