Grace Jones added to Beyond The Pale Festival

Avatar

A big headline addition to Beyond The Pale today in the form of the legendary artist Grace Jones.

The iconic singer (and actress, author, artist, model and gay icon of course) is set to join the lineup below at Glendalough Estate, Wicklow Mountains on the weekend of June 16th to 18th this summer.

From the ’70s New York Studio 54 nightclub to the fashion houses of Paris to the set of James Bond to forging her own path as an attitudinal disco diva and theatrical performer, Grace Jones has done it all.

Grace Jones cemented her music career in the eighties, with songs and albums that dabbled in house, reggae, new wave, R&B and electronica with hits like ‘Pull Up to The Bumper’ , ‘Slave To The Rhythm’ and ‘My Jamaican Guy’.

Since then, Grace Jones has continued to be an iconic avant-garde pop presence on any stage or set, and even had a feature on Beyoncé’s Renaissance last year. For more on her illustrious and interesting life, we recommend the 2017 film Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami.
