Le Boom team up with Æ Mak on massive new single ‘Dancing Bug’

Ruth Cronin

Le Boom and Æ Mak have teamed up  on  their first collaborative single  ‘Dancing Bug’.

The track is everything you’d expect from the pairing and more: think bouncy synth melodies ricocheting off syncopated percussion lines against soaring vocals from Aoife McCan of Æ Mak – it’s the ultimate feel-good song. The music video was shot by Tim Shearwood and finds a brightly dressed Leech, Mallon, McCann & dancers gliding through the streets of Stoneybatter in choreographed movements.

The new music is shared alongside news of Le Boom’s largest headline gig to date at The Olympia in Dublin on October 11th 2019 (tickets on sale Friday at €25) along with tour dates at the Duke of York, Belfast on October 10th; Dolan’s Limerick on October 19th and Glassworks, Derry on October 25th.

The band are also headlining their first London show on May 3rd in Thousand Island before playing Live at Leeds on Saturday May 4th and Hit The North on May 5th.

Aoife McCann said of the collaboration:

“I’d always loved Le Boom’s live shows – myself and my mates dancing ourselves into the ground, high energy and love. Myself and Christy met at The Great Escape last year and got on like a house on fire. We were both like ‘I like your music – I like your music, cool’. We wrote Dancing Bug in a couple of hours late last year. Loved every minute.”
