Monday January 9th
Deep Sky Objects @ Crane Lane Theatre (11.30pm, free)
Cork/Kerry alt-rock three-piece get a quick gig in before heading away to put down their next record.
THURSDAY JANUARY 12TH:
Cork Sacred Harp Singers @ The Unitarian Church (7pm, free)
Four-part harmonies and old hymns in a secular context, using the shape-note system of musical notation for beginners and experts alike. Singers and listeners welcome.
RTÉ Contempo Quartet @ Triskel Arts Centre (8pm, €15)
Works from Bartok, Haydn, and Cork composer Linda Buckley form the basis of Part 4 of the Contempo Quartet’s series of six performances through the Winter/Spring at the Triskel.
FRIDAY JANUARY 13TH:
BAILER @ The Poor Relation (9pm, €5)
Leeside metallic hardcore outfit make with their first gig of the New Year, after releasing debut EP Shaped by the Landscape last year. Support from Provisions and Order 66.
Techno Fridays: Flexure @ Cyprus Avenue (11pm, €8)
Launch gig for debut E.P. from collaborative project of Jamie Behan (Bastardo Electrico) and Stephen Mahoney (Analog, Dublin).
Maedbh O’Connor @ Cube (11pm, free)
Big-room techno set from D.I.E. (Limerick) resident, with support from Auxiliary man Darren Li.
SATURDAY JANUARY 14TH:
Warren Knowles and Greg Jackson @ Cube (11pm, free)
Double-headliner of minimal techno in Cork’s newest space for electronic music, courtesy of Peeled Orange.
SUNDAY JANUARY 15TH:
Liam O’Maonlaí & Cormac Begley @ Connolly’s of Leap (8pm, €17)
Hothouse Flowers frontman joined by concertina virtuoso as part of a tour of intimate venues.
