To add to the info we already know. Other Voices have announced additional names for the bill next weekend in Dingle which include: Owen Pallett, Aaron Dessner of The National (who is curating a night), Palma Violets, The Strypes, This Is The Kit and Luluc.
It takes place in the 80 capacity St. James Church from Saturday December 1st to Monday December 3rd and for the first time ever, the Sunday gig will be broadcast LIVE on RTE Two from 7pm to 9pm which will include Villagers and Paul Buchanan. The Monday gig will be streamed online via RTE also.
The Irish bands playing the music trail in the town this year during the day include Daithi, Toy Soldier, Neon Wolf, Mick Heslin and In The Willows.
Jim Carroll’s Banter talks will take place on the Saturday and Sunday at 4pm in Foxy John’s pub. Guests include Guardian media writer Lisa O’Carroll, Kieran Murphy of Murphy’s Ice Cream on bright ideas as well as historian Diarmaid Ferriter, poet Paul Muldoon and more.
I’ll be there from next Friday to cover Other Voices once again in Dingle so look out for that. And if you’re hoping to get tickets to the Church (though it’s just as fun watching it in the pubs of Dingle), see Other Voices’ Facebook and Twitter.
