Paul Noonan, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Gavin Glass & more to perform in Kilkenny for Chernobyl anniversary

Paul Noonan (Bell X1), Maria Doyle Kennedy, Gavin Glass, Ollie Cole, and Ian Doyle (The Man Whom) will perform at The Set Theatre, Kilkenny on April 26 to commemorate the 31st anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster.

The gig proceeds, at €25 per person, will go towards in aid of Adi Roche’s Chernobyl Children International. Tickets available from Set Theatre direct. Doors 7.30pm. More guests to be announced. Tickets go on sale this Thursday March 30 at 10am.

On April 26, 1986, the world’s largest nuclear disaster, Chernobyl occurred. 31 years on, it continues to affect millions of people all over the world, most of them children.

Adi Roche began working on Chernobyl in the immediate aftermath of the accident and founded Chernobyl Children International (CCI) in 1991. CCI develop programmes that restore hope, alleviate suffering and protect current and future generations in the Chernobyl regions.

A night for Chernobyl to mark the 31st anniversary will raise funds for Vesnova Orphanage and this summers rest and recuperation programme for Adi Roche’s Chernobyl Children’s International.
