Premiere: Kormac brings an electronic edge to Loah’s ‘Cortège’ in new remix

Luke Sharkey

Time flies. Hard to believe it was five weeks ago that we did our first Loah premiere, beginning a series which sees a new remix from her This Heart EP feature here on the site every Wednesday.

This week it’s Kormac’s turn to take up the reigns. He provides us with a superb remix of the poignant ‘Cortège’, one of the most haunting tracks on This Heart.

Speaking on the inspiration behind the track, Loah explains “Cortège is a song that was prompted as an elegy for a friend’s mother who passed. The tune is about the curious and gentle nature of the feminine spirit, what it means, what it adds to our lives – qualities like nurturing, acceptance and unconditional love, delivered with such a light hand. Often they go unnoticed until they are taken away.

Kormac brings his personal experience, depth of emotional character and profound musicality to the work.”

Head on over to Loah’s Bandcamp page to check out her new range of t-shirts. Superb music doesn’t grow on trees you know.
