Clare artist DeCarteret has released ‘Icarus’, a new song featuring Khakikid & Ahmed, With Love.
‘Icarus’ is inspired by the passing of her father in 2020.
“Icarus is a Greek legend depicting a father-son relationship. I wrote this track tying in my own relationship with my father Jerry and also my relationship with God, Our Father. Jerry passed away in mid 2020, and this song is a product of my thoughts and feelings that have occurred since that day.”

About Decarteret
Recently selected as one of District Magazine’s Future Of Irish Music 2023 artists alongside the likes of Curtisy, Moio and Qbanaa, DeCarteret is a short lady from County Clare Ireland, who likes to make lo-fi beats and classical music. Sometimes she makes other things such as neo-soul, jazz and R&B and sometimes she draws too. Sometimes she dances but she’s not great at it, she misses the countryside and her favourite colours are brown, blue, green, purple (she can never decide).
DeCarteret likes apples, mangoes, oranges and other fruit. She likes to swim and walk but doesn’t like to run.
