All you need to know about the IMMA The Prodigy, Deftones, Moby gigs

Three major outdoor shows are taking place at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Royal Hospital Kilmainham this August – one of the finest settings for an outdoor concert in Dublin. The grounds of the 17th-century Royal Hospital Kilmainham, with its courtyard and surrounding lawns, have hosted Forbidden Fruit and Addison Rae already this summer with MCD hosting Boygenius, Queens Of The Stone Age and more in the field there in recent years.

The August calendar adds The Prodigy, Moby, Faithless, Deftones and IDLES to its 2026 programme. Here’s all the essential information from the organisers of this run of shows – MCD.

Who is playing each night?

Thursday August 20th – The Prodigy + Carl Cox, David Rodigan and Arveene

Gates 5pm – Show starts 5:15pm – Last entry 9:30pm

The Prodigy’s Warriors Dance outdoor run follows their fastest-ever selling sold-out UK and Ireland arena tour earlier this year. Liam Howlett and Maxim continue to perform the band’s explosive live show, honouring the legacy of Keith Flint. Carl Cox – one of the great techno DJs of all time – and reggae legend David Rodigan open all four shows on this run. Dublin kicks it off.

We covered the original show announcement when it was announced in November 2025. And if you want to go deep on the catalogue before the show, we did a full listening party on Music For the Jilted Generation at The Big Romance last year – the podcast episode is worth a listen.

Friday August 21st – Moby + Faithless

Gates 5pm – Show starts 6pm – Last entry 9:30pm

Moby returns to Ireland for the first time since a 2005 show at Ardgillan Castle. The New York artist’s catalogue runs from early electronic and rave releases like ‘Go’ and ‘Feeling So Real’ through to the era-defining 1999 album Play – one of the most licensed records in history – and into the more ambient and contemporary work of recent years. Faithless – whose ‘Insomnia’ remains one of the most recognisable dance records ever made – are a perfect pairing for an outdoor summer night.

Tuesday August 25th – Deftones + IDLES and Ecca Vandal

Gates 5pm – Show starts 6pm – Last entry 9:30pm

Deftones already sold out the 3Arena in February 2026 – this IMMA show is the outdoor followup. Sacramento’s finest have been making records for 30 years that move between alternative metal, shoegaze, post-punk and something that doesn’t have a clean category name, with Chino Moreno’s voice remaining one of rock music’s great instruments throughout. White Pony (2000) is the benchmark. IDLES – who play Belfast Custom House Square the night after – are as good a support act as any outdoor show in Ireland this year is likely to have.

We covered the Deftones and IDLES announcement when it landed in November 2025.
