The National Concert Hall is bringing a series of free outdoor lunchtime concerts to Wilton Park on Dublin’s Grand Canal every Thursday in June. Four concerts, all free, all starting at 1pm. A good reason to leave your desk.

The Wilton Park Series runs as part of the NCH’s Festival of Voice and takes place in a one-acre riverside park between Baggot Street and Leeson Street – a new public space completed in 2024 that sits alongside LinkedIn, Stripe and EY’s Dublin HQ offices, which is a slightly surreal context for a trad session but the park itself is nice.

The programme:

Thursday June 4th – Fiddler Andrew Caden, flautist Conor McDonagh and accordion player Ryan Sheridan bring the musical spirit of Sligo to the Grand Canal for the opening concert.

Thursday June 11th – The Bonny Men take over with their energetic, boundary-pushing take on traditional Irish music. Multiple RTÉ Folk Award nominations, reliably excellent live.

Thursday June 18th – The Theodora Byrne Ensemble with special guest Morgana of Saint Sister. Fresh from performances in Brazil and Paris Fashion Week, and recent appearances alongside CMAT and Dermot Kennedy.

Thursday June 25th – The Theodora Byrne Ensemble with special guest Gemma Hayes, closing the series with one of Ireland’s most celebrated singer-songwriters.

All concerts are free, no tickets required, 1pm start. Full details at nch.ie.
