Watch: The artist battles with his better half in video for We Cut Corners’ ‘Original Sin’
Premiering on the site today is the new period-drama inspired video for We Cut Corners’ ‘Original Sin’.
Bathed in warm light, the video depicts an artist struggling to draw the portrait of the women sat across from him. A metaphor the group believe embodies the phenomenon of imposter syndrome, citing “the blinding moment when one’s own insufficiencies are spotlighted by the luminescence of a ‘better-half.'” The video is directed by Adam O’Regan.
The song is taken from the group’s fourth studio album Impostors, which is due to be released this Friday, the 12th of October. The band did an interview on the Nialler9 podcast recently where they talked through the ideas which run throughout the LP, check it out here.
We Cut Corners will launch Impostors in Whelan’s on Saturday the 13th of October. Tickets are available at €12+ here.
