While Bray trio Wyvern Lingo are on an extended break, the members are getting to explore their own solo material for the first time proper since they formed a band in their late teens.
We’ve heard some new music from Caoi De Barra this summer who embarked on an Irish Scooter tour, and now it’s the turn of Karen Cowley, who debuts as Krea (pronounced ‘Kree-Ah’)
Cowley’s debut single ‘September Sun’ is out tomorrow on DSPs and is inspired by Carole King’s 1971 Tapestry album.
“September Sun is about overcoming grief. Going through it yourself and watching those you love go through it. I started writing it last September on an impromptu sailing trip off the west coast of France, near Nantes. It was a day where the fog of grief lifted for a moment and things felt good again. It’s about holding onto the good days in anticipation of the bad.”

Krea Lyrics
Two voyagers lost and estranged
You and I are forever changed
Aeolian dreams and intentions
Keep us on our course of direction
Steadily returning
September Sun
I will hold onto that evening
Hoping it will bring you back to me
Back to me
I will hold onto that feeling
As the days start closing in on me
In on me
While there’s heat there in the sky
There’s hope in my September sun
There’s a blood moon rising above
I think it’s drenched in the setting sun’s love
I’d give all my colour to you
Drain myself to feel your warmth come through
Steadily returning
September Sun
I will hold onto that evening
Hoping it will bring you back to me
Back to me
I will hold onto that feeling
As the days start closing in on me
In on me
While there’s heat there in the sky
There’s hope in my September sun
