Record Store Day – what’s happening around Ireland

I have some thoughts about Record Store Day, the annual celebration of independent music shops taking place around the world on Saturday. But before that, here’s a roundup of Irish activity. If there’s anything to add, leave a comment below. Photo from Failte Ireland.

First up, a full list of records stores participating in Ireland and the list of special releases available worldwide which includes releases from Disclosure, Cut Copy, Little Dragon, Parquet Courts, Chvrches, Devo, Conor Oberst, Haim, Chromeo and Villagers.

Record Store Gay @ Outhouse, Capel Street

Kate’s Party, I Heart The Monster Hero, Patrick Kelleher, French Bird, The Late David Turpin, Gar Cox, Sleep Thieves, Lo Fires and many more. 12 – 6pm.

A celebration of diversity, mini music festival, poster exhibition and pop up music shop for International Record Store Day Saturday April 19th in aid of OUTHOUSE LGBT Community Resource Centre. A compilation of covers by the bands below for RSG will be available in Outhouse and local Record Shops. The mini music festival will continue later at PantiBar from 6pm – 10:30 on Capel St. Donations will be accepted towards Outhouse LGBT Community Resource Centre.
